Knives’ hive continues to amaze me. During today’s inspection, I noticed a lot of frames with new pollen stores plus there were a lot of foragers flying back in with full pollen sacs.
I really have no idea what could be blooming. I guess this is one of the benefits of having hives in an urban environment where people still keep their gardens alive even when the outlying areas are parched dry and on fire.
Amazing to see. We’ve found that our urban bees are well-sustained too from the surrounding garden nurturing. Congrats!
I know. Every day without rain, I wonder how anything is going to survive. But if Jurassic Park taught me one thing, nature finds a way.
I’ve got two flame acanthus(i?) that are keeping a fairly decent population of bees and hummingbirds alive. Purple heart and Texas Betony seem to be doing a good job as well.
